Ambient Light and Proximity Sensor- APM-16D25-11-DF8

Everlight Electronics Co. Limited. announces its most recent innovation APM-16D25-11-DF8 that combines a great ambient light as well as proximity sensors by having an integrated IR transmitter within a compact DFN package. To optimize the level of responsiveness, the package includes the lens which was made based on a highly precise optical simulation with 1 million light rays to produce an accurate design.

Optical proximity sensors using integrated IR transmitters usually have cross-talk issues caused by Infrared stray light. As a way to overcome this difficult problem, Everlight implemented an original package design to maintain this effect to a minimum. Moreover, the distance sensor comes with a qualifications noise cancellation protocol to improve the functionality under the influence of ambient IR light produced by bulbs or sunlight.

Made to reduce the power usage of handheld devices like smartphones, mobile phones and PDAs, the APM-16D25-11-DF8′s closeness sensor has a quick sensing time with a short ON time for that IR LED to maintain the power consumption reduced without sacrificing on awareness.
